Bye Bye Shane Warne

Perhaps the greatest ever leg spinner to play the game of cricket bid farewell to the game and walked into the Hall Of Fame, after creating history recently, by becoming the first ever bowler to take more than 700 wickets in test cricket. Shane Warne, now 37 has played for 16 international seasons and had recently passed 1,000 international wickets in Sydney. He timed his retirement perfectly as Australian cricket team completed a whitewash over England by winning the Ashes 5-0. Shane Warne had great company in retirement as both Glenn McGrath and Justin Langer also retired from international test cricket on the same day. This is perhaps the most significant day in Australian cricket after the simultaneous departure of Greg Chappell, Dennis Lillee and Rod Marsh in 1984. From now on we won’t be having the delight of watching the two greats Warne and McGrath pulverizing the opposition with their magic spells.
